Happy New Year, friends!
December marked one full calendar year since the launch of The Valley Alchemist, and what a wild ride the last 12 months have been!
2018 was full of surprises - success was found where it wasn’t expected, and sometimes it wasn’t found where it was planned for. So, I’m working hard on re-stocking after the Christmas sales bonanza, and getting plans in order for this year. That means we won’t be making any appearances at markets for the next few months while we re-group and re-focus, but don’t despair! You can always order via the website, or drop in to one of our nice retailers.
Thank you so much for subscribing to this little list, trying our tea, and generally being the best support team I could ask for at the beginning of this journey. I am excited about what's to come, and can’t wait to share it with you.
Our first-ever seasonal blend is Pumpkin Spice Black Tea. Featuring Sri Lankan tea leaves blended with apple pieces, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg. It's a lovely balance of the autumnal flavours ready for your tea cup.
Pumpkin Spice is available on the website, at Goldsmith's Farm Market and the Sideroad Farm Store now, until it's gone!
We developed our Give It A Rest sleep tea in partnership with Jessica White Sleep Solutions. As an insomniac, it felt like a dream come true to develop a sleep potion which actually works. Sleep struggles must be something we have in common, because our first batch of Give It A Rest sold out in ONE WEEK.
We're off to whip up a new batch, so get it before it's gone (again!).
Super popular for coffee, the same principles apply to tea. Cold brewing/steeping your tea brings out the natural sweetness - especially for teas featuring fruit - and does not release the bitter tannins which tend to require a fair bit of sweetening when drinking your tea cold. Unlike a hot steep, it's very difficult to over-steep a cold brew, so the simplicity of this method is magic for busy summer schedules.
